Welcome to the admissions portal of École Ivy Kingsman d’Économie et de Musique. We are actively seeking talented, motivated, and intellectually curious individuals from diverse backgrounds across the globe to join our unique academic community. Our admissions process is designed to identify students who not only demonstrate strong academic potential and artistic talent but also possess a genuine passion for interdisciplinary learning and a desire to contribute positively to our vibrant scholarly environment. We are committed to a holistic review process, valuing each applicant’s unique experiences, achievements, and aspirations.

Our Admissions Philosophy: Seeking Potential and Passion

At École Ivy Kingsman, we believe that excellence flourishes in a community rich with diverse perspectives and talents. Our admissions philosophy is therefore rooted in identifying individuals who demonstrate exceptional promise, whether in analytical reasoning, creative expression, technological ingenuity, or a compelling combination thereof. We look beyond standardised test scores and academic transcripts to understand the whole person. We seek students who are:

  • Intellectually Curious: Demonstrating a genuine love of learning, a willingness to ask challenging questions, and an eagerness to explore new ideas.
  • Passionate and Driven: Showing deep commitment to their chosen field(s) of interest, whether in economics, music, engineering, or design.
  • Creative and Innovative: Exhibiting originality in thought, a flair for problem-solving, and the potential to contribute new perspectives.
  • Collaborative and Community-Minded: Possessing the interpersonal skills and ethical grounding to thrive in our collaborative learning environment and contribute to our wider community.
  • Resilient and Resourceful: Showing determination in the face of challenges and the ability to make the most of the opportunities offered. Our selection process is comprehensive, taking into account academic achievements, personal statements, letters of recommendation, and, where applicable, portfolios, auditions, or interviews.

Applying to Our High School Division

Admission to the École Ivy Kingsman High School Division is competitive and based on a holistic assessment of the applicant’s academic record, potential, and suitability for our rigorous and enriching programme. We welcome applications from students who are eager to engage in a challenging pre-university curriculum. The general process involves submission of academic transcripts, letters of recommendation from current teachers, and a personal essay outlining the student’s motivations and aspirations. For students applying to our specialist pathways – such as the Music Conservatoire Pathway, STEM Excellence Stream, or Creative Industries Focus – additional requirements, such as an audition, portfolio submission, or subject-specific aptitude tests, may be necessary to assess specialised talents and preparedness. Interviews may also form part of the selection process, providing an opportunity for us to learn more about the applicant and for them to learn more about us.

Applying for Undergraduate Programmes

Candidates for our undergraduate degrees (BSc, BMus, BEng Hons, BA Hons) are expected to have successfully completed a recognised secondary school qualification demonstrating strong academic preparedness for university-level study. Specific subject prerequisites may apply depending on the chosen programme of study. A key component of the application is the personal statement, which provides an opportunity for applicants to articulate their academic interests, relevant experiences, future goals, and reasons for choosing École Ivy Kingsman. For programmes in Music, an audition is typically required to assess performance standard and musical potential. For programmes in Art and Design, submission of a comprehensive portfolio showcasing creative work and technical skills is essential. Letters of recommendation from academic referees are also crucial in providing insight into the applicant’s abilities and character. We seek candidates who are ready to immerse themselves in a demanding yet rewarding academic journey.

Applying for Postgraduate Programmes

Admission to our postgraduate programmes (MSc, MMus, MEng, MA, Advanced Postgraduate Diplomas) requires a strong undergraduate degree from a recognised institution in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Applicants must demonstrate a high level of intellectual maturity, a capacity for advanced research or artistic practice, and a clear sense of purpose for pursuing postgraduate study. The application process typically involves submission of academic transcripts, a detailed curriculum vitae, a compelling statement of purpose outlining research interests or artistic goals, and strong letters of recommendation. For research-oriented programmes, a well-articulated research proposal may be required. Auditions are integral for performance-based music programmes, while portfolios are essential for design and arts programmes. An interview, either in person or online, is often a part of the selection process, allowing for a deeper discussion of the applicant’s qualifications and aspirations.

International Applicants: A Global Community

École Ivy Kingsman warmly welcomes applications from students around the world. We value the diversity that international students bring to our community and are experienced in evaluating a wide range of international qualifications. We assess qualifications on their own merits and in comparison to the Belgian educational system, seeking evidence of academic achievement and potential equivalent to that of our home applicants. While proficiency in English is essential for all programmes, as it is the primary language of instruction, we appreciate the multilingual environment of Liège and Europe. We encourage prospective international students to familiarise themselves with the general academic requirements and to prepare their application materials thoughtfully.

Scholarships and Financial Considerations

We are committed to attracting the most talented and deserving students, regardless of their financial background. École Ivy Kingsman offers a range of scholarships and bursaries for gifted students at all levels of study, based on academic merit, artistic talent, and, in some cases, demonstrated financial need. These awards are competitive and aim to support students in realising their full potential within our institution. Information regarding available scholarships and the application process for financial support is made available to applicants during the admissions cycle. We believe that financial constraints should not be an insurmountable barrier to accessing an Ivy Kingsman education.
